Our blog posts for November and December will be highlighting some topics covered by our two mentorship students this semester from Batesville High School. We have had the opportunity to have two great, young men observe and shadow the office over the last few months because they were interested in learning a little bit more about how chiropractic care can help the body. In addition, they have been able to gain a greater understanding of overall human physiology.
This month, we showcase Brayden Worthington, Class of 2019. Brayden is an active young man who plays on the tennis and baseball teams at BHS as well as CYO basketball for St. Louis Catholic Church. He regularly attends Young Life to learn more about his faith and spend time with friends. He is an avid hunter and fishing enthusiast, and he is looking forward to the opening of the Fall firearm season for deer this weekend. He chose to write about a major component of human physiology and how the body heals itself. He spent the last couple weeks researching and learning more on this topic. I only asked for a couple paragraphs to paraphrase what he learned.
“The human body possess one of the greatest attributes, the ability to heal itself. Diseases usually occur when we deprive our body of its basic requirements such as sleep or a good healthy diet. Without the proper diet, amount of rest, and exercise the body can become sick and that is when diseases can occur. Two-thirds of all Americans don’t get enough sleep at night. With all of the responsibilities of adults and children it becomes harder and harder to get 8 hours of rest each night. A good healthy diet, along with exercise, and enough sleep, the body will be more equipped to fight diseases and repair itself causing a better healthier life in addition to an improved mental state with greater energy and positive outlook in one’s daily life.”
Great work Brayden! Keep learning and growing your knowledge base on all aspects of health and wellness!
